    Well this morning we headed up to some alpine meadows to catch the last of the summer flowers and this is one that we found. I was so excited to be out and about for a day of macro photography that I actually forgot to check my camera settings which were set for an evening greyhound photo opportunity. Over all a wonderful day up in the mountains pursuing tiny worlds to explore and photograph. Please let me know what you think, CCs are always welcome. :)

    Susan, the overall image of the flower looks a little "soft" to me. You used f22 @ 1/30th...if that is handheld then that might be the problem. Anything below 1/60th almost always gives you a bit of camera shake and this looks like it might have that.

    I'd try it again with a shallower DOF and up that speed a bit.

    Hey Susan, I like the comp, and agree with Jules on the softness of the flower. Really like the color wash of the BG.

    thanks for the input. It was a pretty windy day, next time i will have a wind break set up.
