    Bill, I love the concept but would have liked a different composition. Separation between the wilted and full blossom would still have gotten your point across but given the image a little more interest IMO. Perhaps if the front wilted bud had been a little lower in comparison to the full flower that would have done it for me.

    Thank you for your perspective Jules. My wife felt much the same way while my best friend (a macro photographer) liked it. Maybe it has a bit more masculine appeal. It will be interesting to see the comments. I constructed the frame so that the bud used the bloom as a back drop. Lower and I was afraid it would appear to be an appendage and higher would have blocked the flute to the bloom. Actually I don't know how much lower I could have framed the wilted bud due to the proximity anyway. I felt this perpsective gave the composition a feeling of depth, almost a three dimensional effect purposely using the DOF to further seperate the two. At the same time, manipulating the angle, tying them together. I thought the colors were extraordinary.
