Default Sloth Bear in Rain side profile

This is from the Sloth Bear series. Was trying to shoot in Rain and I am happy sharing these shots as I am getting some constructive feedback which I will take into account when shooting next.

This was taken in a hillock from a hide. The wet rocks were reflecting lot of light and the BG was a big problem. The side profile helped in covering a major portion of those bright rocks.

Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, ISO 800, f2.8, 1/250 sec, full frame. Look forward to your comments.

Good looking bear and do like the water drops !!!

Would suggest a little more room particularly up front. The one bright area UL would clone out since it does catch my eye. Bg wise not sure if you had an opportunity to move left/right to vary. It is an appealing image, particularly like the bear's look and fine claws !!!

Sabyasachi, well done. Alfred had some good points especially the bright spot. You got the bear posture perfect - that look and in the rain works well.

Sabyasachi, I love the pose of the bear and the way it looks at you. Also the texture of the wet skin and the falling raindrops really add drama to this image. That bright spot is easy to clone out, further I would be inclined to try darken down the bright reflections of the rock surface. Overall, a very pleasing image.

Really like the rain in this image. An option for shooting in these conditions would be a drop in polarizer, of course you would loose light so it may be difficult but you might still manage and the reflcections on the rocks would be gone. A few bright spots in the BG that could be taken care of. Great capture!!

    Hi Sabyasachi,
Agree with the bright spot removal. I like the detail you captured n the blacks. Nicely done.

Nice detail in the fur and I like the look he's giving you. The rain adds to the mood of the image. I agree with the others on removing that bright spot.
