    Default Maximum City-Flamingo City

Mumbai, India despite its concrete structures, plays host to thousands of flamingos each year. The mangrove mudflats of Sewri & Mahul attract a lot of bird life the prominent being the Lesser Flamingos. These birds are thought to fly in from Kutch, Gujarat (where they breed). The birds fly in sometime November- December and stay till the onset of the monsoons which is late May/ early June. The Sewri area is an industrial area and the mudflats are where the effluents are dumped. I wonder if it is perhaps something about the type of effluents that encourage the kind of Algae flamingos prefer.

This is perhaps one of my first ever Digital Image and I used a D-70 . Late evening shot with a 50-500 Sigma @ 85mm. This shot also made it to the WWF- India newsletter centrespread.

    HI Krish,

This is fantastic. The only thing I can suggest you is to fix the horizon CW few degrees.

    Can you get down there??

    Thank you for sharing!

That is quite a sight. I think it needs a bit CCW rotation. Thanks for sharing!

This is really an interesting image. Definitely do a CCW rotation and I'm wondering if a little crop off the bottom might look good.....always something to try. Well done.
