here's one for ya, Gus!! this one just goes to prove that you need to store those images for a later look. i just found this one a few minutes ago. taken in june at lover's key. worked on it and decided to post it to see what you guys thought. it was a little underexposed so i lightened it a bit. still trying to learn exposure at this time and i'm guessing i was trying not to blow out the whites!!

    D300, Bigma at 370mm, 1/800s, 0EV, ISO 400, no flash

as always, thanks for looking and comments and critiques are appreciated!

    Daktari,
This is a good composition. I like the capture, the exposure is good and your whites are in check. I like the raised wing and the open bill. Colors are well rendered, and the background compliments him very well. The only tweak that I would do is to lighten the area around the eye very, very gingerly and a small sprinkle of selective sharpening on the eye. You have yourself a winner Doctor...:D:cool:

Hi Harold Can't think of a better tittle Love the little guy !!!!

There is a cast and not sure how it got there? Wished that wing was a little lower to clear the beak Do like the pose very much !!! Would take a bit of the top also for proportion !! Excellent image !!!

No saturation Harold It had a strong cast Might want to try the eyedropper on the black feathers and all three channels should read about the same but they don't

thanks al!! i've gotten away from color balancing like that for some reason lately. i'm guessing because i havent been doing a lot of work on pics lately.

WOW!! i didnt see and now i do!! i'm so used to seeing a colorful color cast and this one was a neutral/gray. thanks a ton!!!!

Great title for that pose, Harold! Really nice image and if it's possible, I'd try lightening the eye a bit. And with my newly first-time-ever calibrated monitor (smile) I readily saw the color cast.
