This female Bald Eagle is one of many at the Alaskan Raptor Center in Sitka, a facility to rehabilitate injured birds. The Alaskan cruise was fantastic and this center was a great place to visit. I also have some head on shots but I like the profiles better. She is just finishing puffing out all of her plumage. Thanks for looking, all critiques are encouraged. :D

    Hi Kirk,

Excellent details and exposure control. I wish for more room all around but this is very nice and sharp as presented.

    Thank you for sharing!

Nice exposure and catch light. I might darken the light spot right under the beak. I don't mind the tight frame. Good job!

Certainly a beautiful eagle....and you captured the detail wonderfully. I think a little more room on the left and top would look good. Given the BG, if the original didn't have the room, it wouldn't be tough to create. Well done.

    Hi Maxis, Joanna, and Lana,

Thanks for your critiques, much appreciated. The image is full frame. I've just switched from D70 (6.1 MP) to D300 (12.3 MP) so I'm not yet used to having enough pixels to shoot wider and crop if desired. Lana, My post-processing skills do not yet include extending canvas, something I definitely want to learn. Thanks again for looking :D
