Not easy to frame them vertically. I like the image. Based on the image ratio it should be a crop. How big?
    Details looks nice.

Terrific shot, I love the compo and the moment, the light is magical and the colors are great too, would've loved a better head turn from the female but still, Terrific! Congratulations!

Perfect exposure, color, angle, and passion too! Maybe a little more canvas on the top would help? A wonderful image, congrats!

Great moment and the details are great. Agree with Keith about adding canvas at the top.

Where in SA was this taken Alexander?

Hi Alexander, very nice image of this ''Soldaditos'' as we call them down here! well, a related species but the same family anyways. I like lighter BG's but this one works fine. I can see something that looks like dust spots that could be easily removed.
    Very nice image anyways.

    Hi Alexander,

Nice catch! Great timing....besides a little CCW rotation i'd like to suggest a bit more space around. As this is 80% of the original, the 100% might be just about right IMO.

Ramon, sometimes when I read your critiques it seems as if you feel that each critique must include at least one negative comment (even if imagined). The head angle of the female in this image is absolutely perfect; I would not want to see it changed one-tenth of one degree.

Please consider your negative comments carefully and be prepared to defend them. Thanks bud!

Hey Alexander. Lovely image, perfect timing, two great head angles, the male calling, sharp as can be, and a perfect EXP. AS above, it could use some more room all around (and the tiny bit of CCW rotation that Jasper noted).

Are both birds in full breeding plumage? I would suspect not with the dusky heads...

Thanks Alexander, I would have suspected that in full breeding plumage they had either full black caps or fully white heads (rather than the smudges...)

Beautiful image Alexander! Perfect exposure, wonderful moment captured...especially the calling male. I am looking forward to seeing images from your South Africa trip!
