This may be a bit tight in the frame for some tastes. Comments appreciated

Nice bird. I think this is a little tight. It also looks a little soft on my monitor.
Is this cropped form the original?

Nice capture but a bit too tight. Needs more room all around.

It was a slight crop from LHS.
Does this look soft? Looks ok to me but if yes then I may need to sharpen.

Nice bird. I would like to see the full water ring around the bird. Usually more room is needed on the side where the bird is heading to providing some dynamics of the image. On my screen it is also soft but only processing problem I guess.

Excellent capture, good exposure, nice pose with the tail up and also looks a tad soft on my monitor but should be easily fixed.

I like the pose and eye contact and agree on more room, especially at the right.

Wonderful bird and great posture with the raised tail. Too tight and the bird is angled away from you. If you had move right and forward a bit you could have better paralleled the subject.

    Tony,
I can most certainly appreciate this flighty creature. I can envisage that while Artie's comment is most true and useful from a compositional perspective, the reality is that had you have done that, your subject would perhaps rushed off into the nearest reedbed?

How could you approach this close to such shy bird?

Nice picture! BTW a littl PP will sort the sharpness issue.
