Not nearly as good as Linda's but I thought I'd give it a try. I've only got one flash to use for now. The feeder has been cloned out using a shot with the feeder taken down. Suggestions for making the lighting look more natural?

Use natural light only. No flash. Like I do. Can't be more natural than that :D

Leroy, I will leave the technical expertise to Linda and others. IMHO this image is quite beautiful and even natural looking to me. I love the motion of the translucent wings, and the colors of the bird blend so well with background. Excellent work as always.

This is a wonderful image. It appears a little soft on my monitor. Your colors and comp are excellent.
I think you did a great job using flash.

I like the BG on this image... a blend of nice colors vs one single color... nicely done! It looks like you may have some ghosting on the HB, but it appears to be sharp in the facial and chest area's. Its different from the norm and I like it.

I like the BG and body of the bird. The wing blur is a bit too much for my taste.

I love this shot, Leroy-- good sharp head and wonderful background. The pinksin the background mimic the bird's color on chest. It looks sharp on my monitor. Thank you for sharing.
