Common Moorhen Chick - Central Florida

This one from a while back as I was browsing some old files. I did some quick mask using Robert's technique to remove some distraction from the BG.

This is not one of my best images, but besides Artie's Post, I don't remember seeing an image of a Common Moorhen Chick in this
forum plus I like this low angle and perspective.

    Comments are welcome.

    Canon 40D, 500mm L @ f/5.6, 1/200 sec, ISO 400, 550EX with BB set at -1, Handheld, RAW, Cropped to help composition.

    Thank you!

Maxis very nice image of this ugly (slightly bald), but colourful (head and bill) chick. They don't stay looking like this for too long. It's interesting how the young chicks and mature addults have similar bill clours and the juveniles from earlier clutches loose it.

I like the low angle and the blurred BG although I would be tempted to give the head a bit more room with some added canvas.

I like the pose, angle and setting. It's a bit tight in the frame for my taste.

Very nice, specially the fact that is not a bird that one is used to see, I like the colors, the BG and the details, agree about a bit more room all arround but as is, still looks great to me! Congratulations Maxis!

Love this one Maxis. You captured the beauty of this little moorhen baby with excellent exposure and especially the pose. A very endearing capture !!!

I love seeing this little creature. The only thing that bothers me is that I woudl think that its' feathers would be in focus with the BG and FG so OOF. It doesn't feel right to me.

Terrific image, love the looks of the bird, the pose and background, a little more space to the top would be nice.

This image was taken in a pond near Kissimmee. I was lucky to spot a family in my way to photograph Snail Kites.

    Thanks!

At Denn John Park, off E. Vince Street. Very close to the Snail Kites.

    Thanks!
