Well caught this action on the weekend, lots I am not happy with, but thought I would share it anyway.

Not the best angle or light - however this is what I had wasn't possible to move any were else.
Perch isn't the greatest by any means.
Big crop as well - as couldn't get any closer - already had the 800mm lens on and phyiscally couldn't get closer bird was on the other side of a small creek.

Great image, the pose prey details are very nice. Al's repost is much better.

I helped out the the hotspots on the head with a 10 second multiply layer job.

    Well done Lance,
I like the full perch including the guts...:p:D. Hey I guess we are morbid individuals...:p Composition wise, Mr. Forns' repost displays better. I see several hot spots in the whites, which can be toned down or cloned in....I like the image and capture...good show...

Lance, it's a very good image. I can feel the softness of the white feathers. Who are you to say it is not good, huh? :D:D

I hope this is the place to ask this. Robert (or anyone) can you give me just a little clue what a "10 second multiply layer job" is?
    Thanks

    Gail

    Hi Gail,

Multiply layer is a layer blending mode that can help bring out detail in a light area. I apply it to certain areas with a quick mask or a layer mask.

I have a step by step tutorial of this technique in my APTATS CD. http://www.birdsasart.com/aptats.htm and
