Mongoose 3.5a Plus Gitzo 1321 leveling base?

any reason the Mongoose 3.5a can't be mounted on a Gitzo 1321 leveling base? The picture of the 3.5a on 4th Generations Designs website doesn't show the bottom of the Mongoose, and the picture in the header, which looks like the 2.3 appears to have a center post like that on the 1321 base...

It will mount up with no problem.

Michael You might try using without it. One of the big pluses in using the Mongoose is light weight so why add another pound? With little practice you can level the Gitzo just fine. I level my tripod every time its set and only takes seconds.

I will try it.. I have the 1321 but haven't ordered the Mongoose yet (Sidekick + M20 user thus far).

I agree with Alfred - the leveling base is too heavy for what it's worth.

I had one on my 3530 LSV and took it off because of the added weight. BTW - you will love the Mongoose M3.5a.
