This is what Tropical Storm Fay did to Mrs. Bluebird. There were times during the week-end, that I could not even tell which was the male or the female. This pair had their four record # 4th brood of the season nestlings to feed thoughout the storm and they greatly appreciated having me give them a helping hand, by supplying some mealworms. They actually flew onto my front porch with me talking to them less than ten feet away. Several times, after eating and feeding their young, they just stayed perched on the "Lil Red Wagon" for several minutes, obviously glad to get a little break from the three days of torrential rainfall.

I know this is not a good background...too busy, but with my limited photoshop skills, I decided I would just go ahead and post it, for the many that can relate to Tropical Storm Fay. I would love to have tips as the best, not real complicated way, lol to work on this background to make it more pleasing. Hope she brought a grin to your face!

This was shot with a Canon Rebel XTi, 75-300 IS at a focal length of 100mm.. I was using either a monopod or tripod at the time. Aperture priority 5.6, ISO 1600, exp. time 1/5 second. exp. comp, +2/3. Aperture priority. Low light/Tropical Storm weather.

    Poor bird!
Well, I can't give much in the way of PS tips, but you could try selecting the background and applying a Gaussian Blur.
If you have more photos of this, with the head angle turned more toward the BPN officially approved head angle (grin) it would be better.

I agree with above. A little gaussian blur would work. The bird can also use some sharpening. Nice capture.

That's one wet Bluebird. As has been stated....select the bird and do some USM. Then select the BG for a little blurring to help some.
