Once again I went to my Sibley's to identify this Gull and I'm pretty sure it's a Heermann's. If not, please let me know. C&C encouraged and appreciated. Thank you for looking:) He's on the side of this large boulder but I'm wondering if I should straighten it?

    Hi Katie,
I like your composition, image and exposure. The details are fantastic; razor sharp and the colors are rich and vibrant. I like the action here. The perch is fine, and the pale grayish slate background makes your subject stand out. good show...

I think it is Katie and looks like a young bird

Wouldn't worry about the orientation since there is nothing really to judge, best to do as it looks best for you. I like the preening pose maybe the head just a little more square to the camera I like it a lot !!! Beautiful bird !!!

That red beak really stands out against all that gray! Very nice image, Katie. I like the slant of the rock and the bird's feet are on an even keel so I'd leave it as is.
