    Hi Everyone,
Just thought that I would post this close up of my favorite GHO.

    Thanks for your comments,

    Steve

Quite loverly. Is this a free and wild bird? If yes, you are/were blessed.

    Hi Artie,
Thanks for commenting on my photo. Yes, this is a wild bird and not one of those in a rehibilitation facility. I would have made sure that I followed the rules and put him into the "Hand of Man" catagory if he was. He is a good friend of William (Brad) Currey and myself and is not at all afraid of us. I am somewhat concerned because he could be open to molestation in the wrong hands. His whole family (four in all), have been driven out of the deeper woods by construction to live in Neck Point Park here in Nanaimo. It's quite unusual as people locally travel as far as the mainland to get a look at these guys on a regular basis.

Thanks for the info Steve. Some folks are not aware of Avian Hand of Man so I like to check. I wish you and the owl family continued peace.

Lucky you, great to have such a cooperative model and I hope they will thrive in their new environment. I might tone down the whites a tad.

I am jealous that you have a family of four of my very favorite owls nearby. GHO's can be incredibly trusting at times. I hope their trust will be respected and protected in their new home. Very nice close up. I also would tone down the whites a little.
