Default UHS Compact Flash Memory cards

I just went to order the D 700 and the salesman says my older (regular) compact flash cards won't work with D 700 without their being a 15 second delay between shots. Is this true?
It also doesn't come with a rechargable battery and charger but those can be purchased from another source for around $85.00.

Did you try more than one source? I got the same story from one vendor when I bought my Canon 20D. They just wanted an extra sale. I can't say for sure that you are getting the same story but do try more than one source.
A fast memory card will help not sure about that long of delay though.

I'd quickly look for another vendor if I were you. This vendor is breaking the box and offering items for sale to you at additional cost that definitely come with the camera . A rechargeable battery and charger definitely come with this camera. If you want to know what you should get in the box go to the Nikon USA website, look up the D700 and click on the technical specifications page. At the bottom of the specs page it shows you what all comes in the box. I wouldn't buy from any dealer who breaks the box.

Thanks Alan and JP you were right. I called to order and tyhe salesman wanted to know if I wanted the rechargeable battery then he wanted to know if I wanted the computer cords etc that should come with the body. He said did I want the plastic body or the titanium. He stated when their ad says "body only" that's what it means. There ought to be something a person could do about businesses like that. Jim

There is! Avoid them like the plague and tell everyone you know who might buy photo equipment to avoid them as well. You should also go the ResellerRatings.com and give them an appropriate rating.

Plastic or titanium, huh?........ Kinda strange for a magnesium alloy body. This vendor is totally unscrupulous.

There is, shop at the reputable places like B&H, Adorama, Hunt's, or Newegg.
