    I found this little bug in the back garden, my original version is slightly higher key so I am keen to think if you regard this as OK or if it could be a little brighter.

    That is one pristine image, Jon, with unusual and attractive BG, the dropping in subjects stand out very well.
    Great use of DOF here :)

    Wow, thanks very much indeed Fabs, I did toy with the idea of cloning out the shadow in the top right hand corner but I decided to leave it because I thought it anchored the image nicely. I placed the leaf and stem in a gap in the garden wall and the out of focus background is a gravel path.

    I like it as presented, too, but wonder what it would look like turned on its side? It seems a little disorienting to me with the bug at this angle.

    Beautiful & different. Like the light BG. U've got some nice details on the bug too.
