This is another hummer attempt. Although I wish I could have caught a bit more of the bill, I liked the definition and coloring. They are getting fewer and far between here in Seattle.

While I like the sharpness and the pattern on the bird's neck, this image has many serious problems.
1-You are not working on sun angle, thus the underside of the near wing is in shadow and there is a curved V-shaped shadow on the bird's flank.
2-The background blossom that merges with the bird is distracting.
3-The dark area just above the bird's head draw the viewer's eye from the subject.
4-The inclusion of a partial bud in the ulc is also distracting.

Agree with Arties comments about the bg distractions and being off sun angle. You did a good job with the sharpness of the bird.....not always easy if you are chasing them around the garden with a hand held lens. I also love the feeding pose. Have you tried using a multiple flash set up?
