    Hi Folks,
I took this at the National Bird of Prey Centre in Gloucestershire a couple of months ago.
    40D 100-400 @ 400mm
    ISO 400
    AV F8 1/400 sec
Desaturated in PS, cropped, levels and sharpening Did some work on the eyes.
Hope you like him - look forward to your c & c's!
    Best regards to all,
    Nicki
    :)
PS I'm going on holiday on Wednesday so I won't be posting for a week or so. Don't anyone be getting arrested in my absence - I'll be out spending the bail money...:D:eek:

Beautiful. If this had been posted in the OOTB toned images I would have handed you IOTW.

nice close up portrait! it takes some getting used to when viewing this in b/w when these owls are so intensely colored.

Can you desaturated/lighten/lessen the contrast to get any detail in the heavy black areas, especially the inner eye corner of the bird's right eye and the inside corner on the bird's right side of its mouth/beak, and above the bird's right eye?

i like the treatment here, nicki!! love the feel/mood!! i'm thinking the contrast is nice here cause it takes the entire scale to make the image. i like it as presented.

    Hi Lady Nicki,
I like this very much. The close up pose is fantastic. I like the details in the eyes and the open bill. The rendition in monochrome is super. good show...keep them coming. I like you style...
