I tried something different here. Instead of going for the close crop, I decided to ad a bit of space as the water seems to add a certain dynamic to the image. Not sure if the composition works, would love to have your comments.

This is great. It was a good decision to include the splash, and the bird's position, pose, and head angle couldn't be better. Did you use a shutterbeam to get this shot? Very nicely done!
