Gus' photos inspired me to post some of my own taken in December '06 with a really crude setup. I used the Canon 30D with the 70-200F4IS, 1.4TC (possibly with the Kenko Extension tube set), on-board flash, tripod and remote release. As substrate and backdrop I used a gold foil which curved upwards in the distance (makes sense?). Then, some food dye, a dropper from the kitchen, some jury-rigging and lots of patience. Fun!
Thanks for looking! JR
PS: a good combo is also to let water drip into a puddle of milk with some dye in it.
This is the crown for the frog, who, when kissed by the princess, turns into a prince :D:D The green color makes it so. I really like this one, John, sharp, well composed and so liquid.
Fun and dramatic! This stuff is amazing. If only I did not have so much work to do...

Very nice John,
I like the texture of your drop; this is an example of fluid motion if I say so myself...:D How many takes did you have to do before your final master piece??? I never Knew you were into hydrolics...:) This is one killer image...Congrats...
Must be a work of love !!! Really like the way those small drops are rocketing out !! Would only go in and clean up the white reflection in the center !!! A Well deserved Big Congrats !!!
Thank you all for the kind feedback! And Gus, I kept about 20 images from more than 1000 shots during that one day. That was my first time ever and I never tried again as it really requires some time and effort to get everything just right. But it is fun.
