Hi, I am going from the UK to Bosque Del Apache first week in December and wonder if anyone can give me some advise. I have been told the mornings can get cold (-5C .. -10C) and I am wondering how my camera (Canon 40D and 5D) batteries will stand up in that cold. I have a camera cover that is designed to take a Handwarmer to keep everything warm, does anyone think that will be necessary or am I worrying too much.
Any other advise about equipment would be most welcome also.
Tell, I've been in Bosque del Apache NWR each of the last 5 or 6 years in warm and cold weather. I've not had any battery problems at all. I do carry spare batteries in a vest pocket under whatever jacket I'm wearing in the cold.
The wind can make the cold pretty unconfortable. Just prepare for it.
