You handled the low light really well. Pose, perch and BG are great, I only wish for more room at the bottom.

What a lovely perch and details. I would like to see it with more sharpening.

Another fine owl photo Steve. I too would like to a little more room at the bottom and a bit more sharpening. Thanks for posting!

Nice, Steve! My owls have long since flown the nest and are mostly only out at night now. Great BG.

Love, love, love the BKGR. Agree with the need for more sharpening and wish that the bird was looking right down the lens barrel. An option would be to eliminate the protruding branch near the end of the perch.

Image looks great, again sharpening would be nice but I was wondering if you used a gaussian blur on the background. If so, it looks like the reason for some of the softness is that the blurred area is overlapping the bird. If you have the background in a separate layer its an easy fix, just a little erasing around the edges. If thats not the case, like I said its a great image and I would be happy it is this sharp at 1/60, good call using mirror lock up and a release.

Thanks to all for the comments.
    Artie,
I intended to remove that little branch and just forgot.
    Doug,
I did use a blur and the selection brush I used has pretty soft edges. I was trying to avoid the "cut and paste" appearance.
