    Photographed two weeks ago near my home in one of our rare spells of good weather:).
    D80 with 18-200 VR lens + Kenko 1.4 TC + Canon 500D close-up lens.
    F8 & 1/125 at 200 ISO; Aperture Priority & centre weighted.

    Nice hoverfly, Frank! You got some really nice detail and exposure on the main subject. I'm finding the two OOF (out of focus) flowers in the foreground a bit distracting - perhaps if you darkened them a bit it would help. I'm also distracted by the extra colors in the background - all easily cloned away.

    Agree with Jules and can add that twisting the camera to have the oof flower lower down would improve the composition but do like you were trying to place the insect away from the center !!!
