Another attempt at the tuis in the Taiwanese Cherry. Softer light has helped the fill flash keep detail in the dark areas.

Much better detail in the darks this time Tony. Like the perch a lot. Angle is a little steep, but it's still quite nice. Thanks for posting!

Wonderful colors, nice framing of bird and nice sharp image. Very interesting bird -- never seen one of these!

Interesting bird Tony, especially the green plumage and white adornments and pretty setting. I'm popping over the ditch for a family holiday in December - mainly south island, although managed to get Kapiti Isand on the itinerary - hopefully will connect with this and other birds.

Quite stunning. Love the flowers framing the bird. The way-cool bird. Great job with the EXP and with the detail in the dark feathers. The only thing that bugs me is that the bird's head is tilted slightly away from you; if only it had been looking a bit more down at you. All in all, excellent.

Beautiful bird, details and setting. I would try to get some more details in the blacks using curves and/or S/H. A lower angle would have been great but that was probably not in the cards. Thanks for sharing!

    Hi Tony,
Better detail on this one. I like the feathers on the back of the head. Neat looking bird.

Thanks for the comments guys. In this other shot the head was better and better detail in the feathers but lost the tail
