Okay guys, now I have been practising my sharpening. To me it's oversharpened so looking forward to your comments!

I like the different shades of the white in this photo. On my monitor, it doesn't look over-sharpened. In fact, I wish the bee were sharp and in focus. I'd also plug that "hole" between the two petals at the top.

    Hi Jeni,
I like your composition, the subject placement in frame is good. Its a shame that you were dealing with harsh light. Your focal point is not on the bee; your bee is out of focus. Focus should be on the eyes or the head depending on your depth of field. Looking foward to your next creation...

    HI Jeni

With these the focus is paramount and so its the point of focus The insect looks a little soft and don't think sharpening will help a lot !! We will probably have an article in the future on programs to blend many images with different point of focus into one. About the only way to have an entire insect in focus !!!

Excellent suggestions above. In addition, using a reverse S Curves adjustment would help to reduce the contrast, but focusing on the main subject is a must.

You have a great shot here Jeni. The bee is a bit out of focus, but you have a great composition and placement of the subject. IMO.
    Regards,
