The Banded plover pair had just changed over nest duties and the male now about to settle on the eggs. The flowers are wild and known here as Patterson's Curse!

Canon EOS 5D, Canon 100-400mm lens, Natural hazy sunlight plus fill flash, ISO 200, 1/125 sec F11, Hide, Tripod.

Nice portrait, love the setting in the flower garden, and with the eggs showing! Fill flash helps the brown wing feathers but the yellow bill seems a little overexposed. Sharpness and DOF look good. Beautiful photo.

Lovely colours in bird and plants, John. Fill flash has done a good job but the bill and cere look hot. A slightly lower shooting angle would have thrown the BG more OOF and isolated the subject more- small aperture has giving good DOF and detail on the bird -

A wonderful job of framing the flowers. Love the open bill and the wonderful detail in the blacks. To tone down the highlights, check out the new Linear Burn post in Educational Resources:

beautiful shot with the flowers next to the bird. I would have prefered a little less flash and a slightly lower shooting angle. but this is great as it is.

With this image, the lower you get the less you will see the eggs so "slightly" is the right word here.

Wow this is lovely Jogn. Really unique the elements (bird, nest, eggs, flowers, open beak, the bright yellow eye)) all make for a fantatsic photo. A lower would not have improved this at all IMO. My only it is the highlights,
