This mob of White-winged Chough was foraging on the ground when a belligerent Australian Magpie took exception to them entering its territory. This image shows the chough's reactions as the magpie swooped them.

Really interesting behavioural shot, Simon. The colours of the eyes and gape and the wing patterns are great. Pity about the cutoff birds on the side of the frame. The overlaps on the left and gap in the middle has my eye looking for a focal point
This is very interesting Simon. I have the same feeling about this image as Tony though, the comp is just not it. Maybe a wider view or isolating one would have resulted in a stronger image.
Cool behavior but the comments above are right on; it looks as if there were two separate images there when you depressed the shutter button. As is the eye of the bird in the front on our left could use some work. Good job with the EXP.

Well, okay, maybe not the most artistic take, but interesting nonetheless and that's part of photography too. Would have been great if the magpie were also in the image.....maybe you'll get another chance sometime!
