    here is a Lillypad taken on a cloudy morning.

    Nikon D200
    1/500 mm f/8
    200 mm with 18-200 VR Nikkor
    400 ISO

    Hello Rene! You seem to have done a nice job of exposing the whites in this but I'm not crazy about the composition. The flower seems to be far enough away from the lily pads that it doesn't really seem to relate to it. Perhaps if you had moved more to the left it would have put the lily closer to the pads and created a better relationship between the two. I'd also suggest cloning out some of the twigs/dark marks on the pads themselves so the image offers less distraction.

    Hi Rene,
    I like what you were trying to do. There are several issues that need to be addressed. The water is a bit dirty showing white specks of dirt, the blemishes on the lilly pads do not look very appealing to me. and your whites on the flower are running on the hot side; loosing details. The flower is too centered in frame; it needs to be off set. I modified your image and composition to make it a little more appealing to the eye...I hope you like...
