    I don't get a lot of opportunities to be over here in the bird forums but I ran across this image from last month and thought I'd post it. It's one of the many juvenile cardinals I had in my backyard this summer and watching them change over to their adult coats was an absolute riot. This little one is about halfway through the process.

    Canon 40D, EF 70-200mm f/4L
    f4 @ 1/200, ISO 800
    Handheld, late evening light

    Processed in camera raw and lightened using Viveza plug-in. Large crop.

    I'd say that he'll be quite handsome with the transformation is complete......thanks to his "well balanced" diet. Well done.

    I've never seen a juvenile cardinal...really nice! Nice background and composition.

    this is a very pleasing shot, the simple geometry of the feeder, pretty bg and little orb of a bird seem just right
