    Hi to all,

Spring is around the corner and I'm experimenting with DOF and lighting with my new lens.

All comments and help much appreciated.

I had to do a serious double take on the "spring" comment. (how hemisphere-centric of me) I scrolled back up to see that you are in Sydney, while we're in the "dog days" of Summer, and hurricane season in Florida....

This is beautiful - such a perfect sphere (speaking of hemispheres). The DOF really gives it a 3-dimensional feeling - that you can walk right into this bloom.

It MIGHT be a little tight on the left and right - but I also like it just as it is.

    :)

Pretty cool. It reminds me of a firework with the highlights in the foreground. I agree with Amy, it is a little cramped. If youv'e got it - you might want to let it loose a little.

You're doing well with that Sigma 150. Excellent detail. I would like to see more room on the sides. Also I would like to see the stem coming in at something other than straight up and down.

Aristotle, really nice take of this dandelion - I think they are such fun subjects to photograph! If this is full frame and you do want to add some room around it, should be easy with your dark background to just add a little canvas. P.S. I too did a double-take when I read 'spring is just around the corner'! :)

Aristotle, that is one of my all time favorite dandelion photos! You managed to capture some beautiful detail that is often overlooked. I do feel it's a bit tight in the frame for my personal tastes but it's lovely overall.

I like this one. the tight frame and the shallow depth of field are perfect here.
