I absolutely do not know why I cannot upload this image, I guess it wasn't meant to be, but will try once more.

This image was taken at the Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge here in Boynton Beach Fl. at 6:30-a.m. with a Canon MK-3 and 500-mm-F4.

The stats are ISO-800 @F/8-500th of a sec. and a +-2.3 exposure bias.

I'm glad you finally got that photo to display Bill! The wing position is pretty good, as is eye contact. The image is a little soft as posted; I try for a shutter speed of 1/1000 or faster for flight. Also, it could use a contrast boost. Thanks for posting!

I like the wing pose and the angle of the bird. It is a little soft. 1/500 is a bit long for a flying bird. Try to use 1/1.500 if possible.
the BG is a little distracting but ok for me. Maybe you could blur it a little more in PS.

Hey, glad to see that you figgered it out. Please let James and Blake know. And welcome.

You got the whole bird in the frame and the image could be sharpened a bit more. The wings full down is a much more attractive wing position than the wings half down as here, and, as Doug pointed out, the image needs a big contrast boost as it looks washed out. A pretty good crop from the bottom to a pano would be an improvement as the leaves there add nothing for the image.
