    Predator and Prey

    Canon 1D Mark II, ISO 400, f5.6, 1/640, 800mm (Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS, EF 2xII) full frame

I saw this tigress trying to hunt several times. I took this shot when the tigress got up for a moment to acess the situation. She then started stalking again.

Excellent story in this photo. Congrats! Looks like the tiger was listening to you & your camera. And I thought Canon's were quieter than Nikons!

National Geographic? Ohh My God ! :-)

I just saw this. I was not aware that this image has been choosen as IoTW. I can never forget that day. I was watching the tigress and cubs for more than two hours. The light levels changed as sunshine gave way to clouds and sandstorm. This image was clicked during a sandstorm. I could not resist exposing my equipment and shooting this.

Bruce: I was shooting with the 1D Mark II and it is loud. :-) However, my driver thinks I am a great photographer because of this sound. :-)

    Thanks for all your comments.

    Regards,
    Sabyasachi
