Taken this week at Fort Desoto. The Royal Terns were quite active and such fun to observe. A fabulous place for photgraphic opportunitues.

Beautiful image Judy, makes me look forward to the summer when our terns return. Excellent detail and exposure on this shot and the full spread of the tail makes for a great pose.

    Cheers

Fantastic Judy - great light, feather detail. Love these aerodynamics in action type shots - tail spread and alula extended. You just can't see these things in real time.

Judy, I really like the level head with the body tilted to give you that nice top view. Well done.

Judy Lynn it's all been said (almost) before me. I'll only add that I love how the tail feathers become more opaque where they start to overlap. Well done!

    Beautiful pose, Judy.
The only think I don't like is the wingtips, they seem to be the focus of the image. This happens a lot and I have a tutorial about it in the Digital Workflow Forum.

I would have sharpened this on a layer, and, with an layer mask, erase the effect of the sharpening on both wingtips for a more even look.
I t seems like you enjoyed your Desoto trip :)

Like Michael said, the tail alone is worth the price of admission. Beautiful.

    And, great title!

This is an incredible image. The sharpness and the details as well balanced. Excellent span of wings and all the tail feathers. Cannot comment anything bad here.
