    Default Serene Tricolor Reflection

Hi all. Here is another from this past Sunday at Viera. This time no BG to worry about. He was really concentrating on catching a fish. Taken with the D300, Nikon 500 f4, f71, iso 640, -1.00, 1/3200. Thanks for looking and commenting:).

Great reflection and light. I might sharpen the bird more and try to get more details in the area below and above the neck.

I really like this as is Nancy, it looks like a painting. You could sharpen the bird but then I think it takes on a different feel, just depends on what you are shooting for. I agree you could try to bring out the details in those two areas a bit.

wonderful shot. great colors and reflection. the blug BG is a perfect match for the yellow of the bill.

I wouldn't sharpen it more. I think for showing it on the web it's just fine. But sharpness is very much a matter of personal taste.

I like it a lot Very strong reflection Can only wish for a slight head twist. Would have shown a little more of the eye making a stronger impact lessening scrutiny to neck areas !!! Fine image I like it a lot !!!!

Great reflection in the water. More sharpening and a slight head turn would strengthen the image. Thanks for posting!

I like the hunting pose, and the extrodinary flat water! I can't imagine why anyone would wish for a head turn.

Beautiful image nancy. I really like the fact that you can't discern the water surface (i.e. the separation between the actual bird and its reflection) at all, except perhaps around the bird's legs.

Thank you all for your kind comments.:) I was able to get a few like this that day, so I guess the day was not a complete loss.

Good exposure control, composition, and action. I could look at this image for a long time and still it would be fascinating, reason - something about the concentration of the bird is striking in this image. Well captured.

    Hi Nancy,

Yes, lovely reflection and light. Alfred is that only one who commented on the need for a slightly better head angle (the head is turned slightly away). As for the need for sharpening, I am not sure what others are seeing but the bird is way soft...

Also, you might consider reducing the type size as the copyright line detracts.
