    Nice composition Lance,
I like the pose. The exposure and details are very good. The baby blue sky makes this fellow pop...:D He just needs a little bit of counter clock wise rotation, or perhaps a slight capture angle to the left would have been better for the head angle...congrats...good show...

Great job with exposure and sharpness Lance! I'd like to see more of a profile view of the bird's head here, but with the bird's head pointed at you I might have used a smaller aperture to try to get the tip of the bill in focus. It looks like you had plenty of light with which to work. Thanks for posting!

Agree with previous Great comments !!! Can add I would place my point of focus half way up the bill to maximize it !!! On portraits does make a difference !!! Love the feel Excellent image !!!

    Hi Lance,

I like this picture. The whites seem just right to me with lots of detail. Another one of your images that I have enjoyed! Can't wait to see more.

    Regards,

    Phil

I agree with Doug...a little more DOF would have sharpened that beak and bumped the image up another notch. Everything else works for me...the comp, BG, and lovely feather detail. Good job!

    Hi Lance,
Stunning image - love everything about it! No puffins till next year now - :( - they will have left for the Atlantic where they spend their winter...
    Regards,
    Nicki
