    Default Bohemian waxwing

This was one of about 350 Bohemians in an early spring irruption in western Massachusetts, accompanied by over 600 cedar waxwings, all feeding on the red berries.

    1DM3, 500 mm, + 1.4x TC, ISO 800, f/7.1, 1/1250 sec, +0.3 EV. Some posterization in BG.

    Comments appreciated.

Great pose and composition Keith! Sharpness is good too. It looks a little underexposed with correction in post-processing; the result is noise in the feathers. Against that BG I would think that EC of +1 or greater would be necessary for a properly exposed bird. I might consider a slight CW rotation. Overall very pretty! Thanks for posting!

I like the head turn and it's always great to see Bohemian Waxwings in Massachusetts. I went to Northfield a couple of times myself to see this flock.

Lovely pose with the head turning back and very nice detail in the feathers. Good suggestions from Doug on exposure . Many thanks for sharing Keith.
