    Default Bear in Rain

Since last year, I have been trying to take pictures of big wild animals like Tiger, Gaur (Indian bison), elephants etc in Rain. This time I could get bears in Rain. Sharing one shot. It was raining and the light levels were low and I was desperate for higher shutter speed. I new ISO 800 is bad in 40D, but I had to use it. Surprisingly, the 40D was wet due to the mild but persistent rain but survived.

    Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF 400mm F2.8 L IS USM, ISO 800, f2.8 , 1/250, full frame.
Didn't feel the need to use the vibrance and saturation controls. Would love your feedback.

While you nailed the exposure and sharpness I have some doubts regarding your framing. Often with close-up shots like these it is all about taking risks and frame it really tight (a bit tighter than you did here), or to show the whole animal.....I have the feeling this is somewhere in between. While the grass on the left is taking away some attention from the bear...it does add a visual element to the photograph and gives some feel of the bears environment....also it brings colour into the photograph. Good effort getting this Sabyasachi!

I have to agree with Jasper here. Sharpness and DFO perfect on the head and nose. The clipped foot leads you out of the image. A vertical tight on the head would work well and that you can crop from this image or a looser image with the feet showing.

... and alternate crop would be just around the ears? Nothing much going on with the top part and will strengthen the bottom !!! I like it !!!

Good effort here I might haved liked this image in a vertical format the 3/4 head on angle of the bear lends itself very well to that format. The biright rock in the BG is a biit of a distraction but what can you do??
