From Cape St Mary's in Newfoundland a Northern Gannet coming in for a landing on the rock. Sun had just broken through the fog and was clear, a little back lit. Lucked out with the weather this year !!!

wonderful flight shot. great exposure. The light seems a little harsh but this is what you get at sea. I had the same while shooting Gannets last May on Helgoland.

Nice one Alfred, I like the pose and the translucent wings due to the back lighting.

I really like the backlit wings Al! The bird is set off nicely against the blue BG too.

Terrific pose, and the backlit wings look great. I know the light we had was not the best, and neither was the wind, but you made the best available. :)

Sweet Shot Alfred! Nice wing position and angle of capture I also like the way the light is shining through the wings...

I really like the translucence of the secondaries (seems like everyone does and for good reason)...one of the advantages of backlighting situations that are well executed :-) This guy looks like its having fun!!

Very nice Alfred. A beautiful blue BG and a great pose. The harsh light is just what I would expect to feel at this type of location, was well handled, and doesn't detract from the image at all for me.
