There has been a steady trickle of waders returning over the last couple of weeks from their northern breeding areas. Some of which are still showing their summer plumage. The main species back so far are dunlin and turnstone along with the occasional knot and a few sanderling. This is one of the returned dunlin taken a couple of days ago.

Thanks Alfred, Axel and Doug for your replies. I found the line of the rock a bit distracting as it cut down through the bird. I was crawling along a rock pile and wanted to go right a bit to get a better angle by moving to the right but the dunlin were very twitchy having just arrived back.
