Default My first post: Eurasian Tree Sparrow

This is my first post here. It's an Eurasian Tree Sparrow from last winter.

I set up this perch close to a feeder. Often the Tree Sparrows would land for a very short moment before going to the feeder. In that case, I was fast enough to focus and get a shot.

Welcome Markus! You picked a nice photo for your first post. The bird is nice and sharp, I like the perch, and you've got a smooth BG. I'd like to see a slight head turn towards us. Please take advantage of our 800 pixel limit on photo posts, as it shows off your photos and makes critiquing them a little easier. Thanks for posting!

Willkommen, Markus! Very nice first post. I like the details, perch, BG and soft light. As Doug mentioned, you can post images up to 800 pixels and please post the techs, too. Keep them coming!

@Doug: thanks for the critique. I will use the 800pixel limit for my next images.

the image was shot with 1/500, f5.6 and ISO 1.000.

Lovely shot, Markus. I really like the light and complimentary colours between plumage, perch and BG - well done

Welcome to BPN!! A very handsome bird you present us for a first post. Apart from the small size posted, I like it :-)

the BG is some bushes about 15 meters away from the bird.
