Not an easy capture to get for sure. These birds fly like little bullets and your timing was right on. Great color and detail as well as wonderful eye contact. Outstanding capture.

Oh my! This is terrific. A very difficult bird to catch in the open.

Oh My God! I know most ppl hate to see such comments but what else we can say for the first time we see this photo.
This is an incredibly hard to take image. Small secretive bitterns is flight... WOW. Very good job. Any more desire from my side.
Obviously a winner for this week!!!

:eek::eek::eek: Jim, well, I am speechless, and my husband will tell you that I do not get that way very often,:). Ok, ok, comment, maybe, I say just maybe a little tight in the frame. That BG is to die forl Now, did I say . Viera is full of these guys, and I will be out there this weekend, something to strive for.

Very cool! I like the wing position, light and BG. A bit tight in the frame for my taste.

Great job Jim! Love the color of the wing. I'd like to see a little more space also.

I think this is a fantastic shot of an elusive species. The wing pose is perfect. I like the calm background and the warm light.
For my taste, there is enough space around the bird in the frame.
