    Taken at Don Edwards S.F.Bay National Wildlife Refuge...

    Here are the settings -

    Canon 40D + Sigma 50-500 F4-6.5 APO DG HSM on Mongoose 3.5a
    ISO 400, 1/2000 sec, 500mm at f8, exp comp. -0.33.

    Nice work Indranil! Good sharpness and eye contact. Wing position is good, but a full downstroke would be better. I'd like to see a bit more room behind the bird. Here's a repost where I adjusted the black point, lightened the eye, and added some canvas. In making the changes, it became apparent that there's a halo around the bird from the original processing. Thanks for posting!

    Nice light, eye contact and BG. I agree regarding the wing position and more room. There is also a S/H halo around the wing.
