    it isn't a bird, but the best i can do on this day. a filter was used to enhance red appearance.

    Mike - I quite like the play between good (light) and evil (dark) here and the cute little being caught in between.

    Maybe a little more sharpening and a bit of work on the eye and its good.

    Wish that the only light had been the spotlight on the head as I simply do not like filtered light. That said, the image could be improved by getting rid of the bright leaves in the upper right.

    Agree with Artie and can add that I would like seeing some of the shadow areas at DMax All shadows seem to stop well short and it would give you a greater contrast range !!! Like the selective lighting very much Having the light on the face made all the difference !!!!

    thanks. i guess i overdid the red filter i have one that has only white light i could post tomorrow.
    i wanted to let you all know that the globe the wren from yesterday was actually sittting on is "its egg". (someone from another site came up with that).

    Very intimate portrait, Mike. I think the BG could be enhanced as Artie suggested...either take it all darker or take it all lighter. The squirrel himself is really nice and the foreground really does a nice job of framing the image.
