I was waiting at a waterhole at sunset, hoping for some rhino to show up and just as I was giving up hope and starting to pack away my gear, this mother and her calf came running from the bush towards the water. I wish I would have tried to place the sun a bit more to the right though.

Lovely composition, Vincent. IMO, the trees look a little washed out, maybe adding a little black to the neutrals in Selective color or moving the mid tone slider to the right in levels should take care of that. Great mood.

Nice atmoshpere and well though composition....I don;t mind the sun being where it is....but I do fully agree with Fabs about the image being a bit washed out. Also I would have liked to see this with just a little bit more space around. The little rhino makes this one for me....cool!

    Vincent,

The color/exposure looks fine as presented, but adding a bit more black density would enhance the overall appearance. Nice job getting the mom and baby rhino together in the open. A keeper for sure.

    Best,

The sun being circular and centered in the frame is an overpowering element. I agree having the sun off center would help balance the comp with rhinos. Even though I still like the image as is...

It seems like a sunrise to me. Like they are just waking up for the day. Great image.

Good capture as presented...I like the feel and mood in this one. The blacks are just a tad washed out; but just being there and recording this moment in time, makes it all good...:D congrats...I like it...
