This is a common house ant? on my kitchen counter. This image is a 20 shot stack created with a tripod mounted Nikon D200, 200mm f4 Micro Nikkor with a 50mm f1.8 Nikor mounted reversed on the front, 200mm set at f32, 50mm set at f1.8, ISO 400, TTL flash with an SB800 exp comp 0.0. This is my first "sort of" successful stacking of macro images (6X I think?). I couldn't find a real neat bug, so I sacrificed this guy. The forground was messy, so I added a "flood". Stacked with CombineZM, PP in CS3, cropped and cloned a bit. C&C welcome. Dan Brown
Dan, this is really creative! I have to admit I thought he was running from the water - I had him completely backwards in my mind! Great use of the flood. Any idea what the 'fuzzies' are on the left side of his body?
Julie, I don't know what the white stuff is. This guy perished about 2 hours before the images were made and I am thinking the white stuff might be a fungus of some type that took over the abdomen shortly after death
but it's just a guess. Dan
