i shot this in my back yard yesterday. i couldn't wait to put it up. it looks good to me. any suggestions for improvement of course are welcome. it is perched on top of our lamp post. hence the curve at the bottom.

Still on a roll Mike !!! I love the pose with the turned head and raised tail !!! Remember to line up on sun angle The light was from your left making the right side dark, makes a difference.

Perch wise would like to see anything other than bright white, it is a magnet and draws you eye before getting to the bird !!! On the bg might want to fill in some of the bright areas !!! Getting there !!!!

Good points by Al! It's nice to shoot in sunlight; I never thought I'd see 1/3200 from you Mike ;). When you've got ample shutter speed, try stopping down to f/8 or so. I think you'll be pleased with the added sharpness.

You're on a roll, Mike! The bird looks great. I would take Al's advice and stay away from the lampost as a perch, though...it is really distracting to the eye.

Agreed that the big white in the foreground has to be dealt with.

    thanks again to you all.
i could have put up one that was taken in a bush, but did not have the detail i got with this one. to be truthful, it all happened so fast i didn't have time to do anything but ''point and shoot''.
