Default Truly, the hand of man

I met this little guy in Central Park back in May. He wasn't long out of the nest and was not afraid of us at all. In fact, he couldn't wait to snatch peanuts out of this man's hand. I was just glad to have the opportunity to be so close to a downy woodpecker. :)

How Sweet! A different pose...looks like he is sitting down. Very different. I had to chase one off this afternoon. He was pecking at the entrance hole to my Bluebird nesting box with one day nestlings inside. A few days ago, I saw one inside a different empty nesting box. My Bluebirds may have some competition next spring. Thanks for sharing this fine image.

This is darling. I love all my woodpeckers at the feeders. Although they are friendly.....and do flybys when I get home (demanding peanuts) I've never had them feed from my hand. Love the interaction with this one. Well done.

The pose is really cute, not your typical woodpecker image. :)

This is the cutest little thing!! He'd better start getting wise about other critters in his environment pretty quick if he wants to survive! Nice, sharp, well exposed image! I'd be tempted to do a little manipulating for a second image: eliminate the hand and add canvas to the left. :D
