White-throated Fantail (Rhipidura albicollis atrata) at dawn in Fraser's Hill, Malaysia. Lot of mist in the air and it had started to clear up a bit when this fantail came and sat on a branch near me for a few seconds before it flew away.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, ISO 400, 1/200, f2.8. About 23% cropped from the left and top basicaly to remove a distracting leaf.

It's rare that I'll say this for a perched bird image...but I think this would work as a pano-ish crop with some of the bottom taken away and placing the lower end of the perch near the LRC. I like the effect of the BG leaves, and I would tone down the brightest part of the BG near the bird's head (to make it similar to the rest of the grey).

What a beautiful bird and your exposure was great and shows off some lovely detail in the feathers. I think the BG adds a very nice dimension to this capture too. Great pose too and many thanks for sharing Sabyasachi.
