Photo of black-capped chickadee. Canon 400D, canon 400mm f5.6 lens, 20 mm extension tube, f5.6, iso 400. The eye was lightened a bit and sharpened a tad. Thanks for looking.

This will be my last post for a while. I'm spending next week at the Red Rocks Wildlife refuge in the Centennial Valley in southern Montana. This area is noted for its population of trumpeter swans and sandhill cranes, a little different subject than what I usually try to shoot.

Hi Dave - now this is nice.

Not sure if I am seeing a sharpening halo around the head area of the bird or just the lighting.

Lightened the face a little - sharpened the eye :)

Very nice little chickadee, Dave. Have a great time in Montana, looking forward to hearing about it when you return.

Nice image. Agree about the lightening. Might give a bit more room for the tail.
Have fun shooting those 'big' birds.

Great pose and colors. I like the repost to lighten things up a bit.
